Most handmade artists have a marketing rhythm. . . .
- Performing some marketing activity (facebook post, tweet, participate in the forums, write a blog post, etc)
- Looking at the results of those activities (Google Analytic stats, Etsy stats, and Social Media stats)
Many artist find it hard to remember their marketing activities and see if there was any noticeable result from those activities. That’s why we created the Handmade Marketing Log Book.
The Handmade Marketing Log Book allows you to keep track of all your marketing activities for a day. Then it has a space for you to keep track of your results (key stats) that evening.
For example, during the day you tweet twice, write a blog article, post it on Facebook, and create a treasury. You write all those activities down right after you do them in the log book. Later that evening, you then check out your results by signing onto Google Analytics, looking at your Etsy shop, and seeing some stats about your blog and social media—you write down some of the key numbers to track.
Once you do this for a few days, you might be able to look at your Log book and notice that the days you perform a lot of Facebook activities—you get more traffic and typically more sales in your Etsy shop—eureka! Your log book just worked—you now know how your marketing activities help your Etsy shop get increased exposure.
Marketing is part art and part science. Finding the right mix is the art—this log book helps give you a tool to add some discipline—so you can easily recognize positive marketing methods.
