How To Add Your Avatar To Handmadeology And Other Blogs
The question is how do I add my avatar to Handmadeology? The answer is simple and will also help you brand your self when commenting on other blogs and sites.
Gravatar is the answer and here is how you solve the problem.
Head over to Gravatar and sign up for an account. There is no charge and it is simple.
Use the email address you have used to sign in to Handmadeology and other blogs to leave comments.
Once you fill in your email address you will get an email in your inbox asking you to confirm. Click the link in the email and you will be taken to a screen like the one below.
Pick your user name. You can check the availability of your user name with the check button. Fill in your password you would like and hit sign up!
Now that your account is set up and ready, you can add your picture and edit your info.
Here is where you will add all the info about.
Add your picture that you want to use for your avatar under the “Your Images” button.
You can add as many pictures as you want. Pick the picture you want to use and show as your avatar.
For this to all work you will need to use the email address you signed up with on Gravatar any time you sign up to comment on a new blog.

gravatar, but I’m here to say it works.
Well, I went to create a Gravatar and it says I already have one, so I am just posting to double check and see for sure!
Yep looks good Martha!
Very cool, testing…

checking to see if I know what I’m doing. Thanks for the tip!
of course we all want to see this work! the only problem i am having is that my avatar is too complex to be a icon thingy in an address bar… working on that. I am Branded so if brings tough choices – thought provoking
Very cool!
I’ll try that thank you so much great as always!
just a test guys
Appreciate your step by step directions, Tim.
This is a test post to see how it went!
Oh my goodness – I had been trying to figure this out! Thank you so much.
Cool, testing it here.
I’d had spent such a long time trying to find out how to do this, thank you for the tip. Let’s see if my picture comes up here!
Oh that’s a shame, my blog is with blogger.com (www.oceanstylejewellery.blogspot.com) and it seems gravatar doesn’t work with blogger so I can’t leave comments on my own blog.
Thank you Tim, checking if I don’t have a blue head
Let’s see if I’ve done this correctly!
Let’s try again
Hmmm. Gravatar seems to be a little puny and the site isn’t cooperating with downloading a new one at the moment. I’ll keep working on it!
Hurrah!!
Take two…
Thanks!
I love your website, but never felt comfortable commenting before. (Read: Long time reader, first time commenter.

Second test of gravatar
I’m trying to figure out how to change my email address to this one Tim. How can I change my information for handmadeology?
Tim how do I change my email address for here?
Thanks!!! That was a snap!!!
Testing here…sometimes I just can’t get these things to apply as they should!!
Thanks for the info here though!!!
Awesome explanation – thanks as always!
why didn’t I notice this before!! thanks you, I hope it is not as complicated as sometimes comps are serious time wasters
I am tired of the bust, I will let you know How I do
ok, clicked link, went to sign up, added my email, checked my email, clicked the link, added my username & password, added my pic, then went to the drop down menu- edit profile, added my info easily accepted it, & viola- my image should appear now
WOW! there it is! it also added it to all my past posts too! Amazing!
I had a blue head gravatar because I’m developing a blog – didn’t know it because I hadn’t connected all of the dots until I read your tutorial — now I have an actual, real gravatar and understand the bigger picture of how the “dots” work. Thanks so much!
Ah-ha! I have two email addresses and needed to set this one as my primary address to get the Gravatar to show up. Now I really get it — I HOPE!
thanks for this tip… just seeing if I have done it right now!
