Bright Life Toys

It all started with a bolt of fabric, a sewing machine, and a dream. I started Bright Life Toys due to the absolute need for a creative outlet when I left the workforce to stay home with my son.
I began researching Waldorf and Montessori education and natural living, and knew that was something I wanted to embrace for my children. The philosophies of open ended and educational toys led me to create the types of toys I currently offer.

I believe in color, and that in color, there is happiness. I draw inspiration from nature, and rainbows are my favorite things to dye. I love bold, bright splashes of color.
Using natural and ethically sourced materials is very important to me. I create my plushies out of organic bamboo velour that I hand dye. The wool I use in my Waldorf line of toys comes from Touchstone Farms, the first certified humane sheep farm in America. I assist with shearing the sheep in the spring (wool skirter at your service!). I then clean and card the wool in my home studio.

  1. Oh, what cute toys!I love color, too. We’d have such a dull world without it. And who can pass up good, handmade wooden toys? Especially when the markets are flooded with plastic mass produced junk?

  2. Hooray! I’m so excited to see Gail and Bright Life Toys featured here on Handmadeology, she is a personal friend of mine- she works extremely hard to produce high quality eco friendly items for your family.
