We are all aware of the relseller problem hitting the Etsy community. The Wall Street Journal just posted an article that talks about how Etsy is cracking down on relsellers. They are increasing the number of employes that police the problem and say that they are reviewing 7 times the amount of items every week.
Here is the article : Busted by the Crafts Cops
Take the time to read and report back!
Oh, and here is what happened to Lisa Jacobs. Etsy Shop Suspended! What You Need to Know

I certainly hope so…I have a lot of friends who make jewelry and that they should be buried a midst mass produced junk is horrendous. Here’s hoping they clean it all up!
I find it very frustraighting searching out the real artists from the ebay junk. Etsy is a wonderful marketplace. It’s a shame people have to break the rules as it ruins it for everyone. It’s tough when a site gets so popular to keep control of it. I am glad to see greater lengths are being taken in controling the problem. Thanks for the article!
Glad to hear it!
I’m glad! I saw some things today that I wondered about. When we still had the chat function this came up frequently.
thanks for the report!

Oh, how I’d love to be one of the people hired to police the site for resellers! I’d be relentless!! Go, Etsy! Reject the resellers!
Interesting news and report, but now I feel kind of overwhelmed! I hope Etsy can get rid of mass-produced items – I often stumble upon suspicious stuff myself, and it’s very unpleasant. But stories like Lisa’s or Jaime’s show it won’t be that easy nor painless for the community
I wish the article had addressed what they meant by “items that violate copyright.” That’s my personal frustration – sellers who steal liberally from Eric Carle, Disney and so on. We work hard to create our own original designs.
