I love love love this idea – but do you treat the wood somehow first? Is there a chance it can grow mold from being in the elements before being built into your home?
That wall is really nice. We have used pallets in various ways too. In the hoes we used them as window sills. Sanding down after fitting them made them lovely and smooth too.
Mainly we use them outside. The lengths are just right for a traditional picket fence, and you only need to shape the top if you want to.
My friend has used them to pretty chicken houses.
They really are able to be put to fantastic use. I think I’ll have a go at making a feature wall wall like yours as my next project.
When I had my birck and mortar stained glass store, I got my glass sheets in wooden crates on pallets. I built a glass porch on to my house and used the wood as the. Looked awesome and was very rustic.
I love this idea!! How creative…Now I wish I had pallets back that I have received this past year from shipments….I would never have thought to do this….Really looks nice!!
I’ve made coffe tables out of pallets, more out of necessity than anything else. I needed a coffee table and it was the only wood I had. It worked really well so I made more. I never would have thought to do this though. Absolutely awesome!
